About the position

We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Marketing Manager to lead and scale Thumbtack’s Paid Social program. This role will manage two direct reports and serve as the go-to expert across social growth channels - including Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and influencer marketing. You’ll drive both national and local campaigns, marrying sharp execution with cross-functional leadership and a strong understanding of how social fits within our broader growth engine.

Responsibilities

  • Own and scale Thumbtack’s paid social strategy across platforms like Meta, TikTok, and Pinterest - driving incremental customer growth, while balancing positive contribution.
  • Own the tracking, attribution, and incrementality measurement strategy for paid social, partnering with internal and third-party tools to ensure confidence in results.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop two direct reports, providing strategic direction and hands-on coaching to uplevel the team’s execution and impact.
  • Translate customer insights and performance signals into an experimentation roadmap—driving a continuous test-and-learn culture across audiences, creative, and platforms.
  • Oversee all aspects of campaign management—including budget pacing, bid optimization, creative iteration, audience segmentation, and platform best practices.
  • Audit and evolve the paid social tech stack, unlocking automation, signal improvements, and campaign efficiency - especially within Meta and TikTok.
  • Partner closely with analytics, product, and marketing tech teams to build automated tools for audience workflows, creative decisioning, campaign builds, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Brand and Creative teams to develop and iterate thumb-stopping, performance-driven creative that also advances Thumbtack’s brand narrative.
  • Manage external agency and platform relationships - pushing for innovation, unlocking new opportunities, and ensuring Thumbtack remains on the leading edge of social marketing.
  • Drive executive-level reporting and translate channel performance into business impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Master’s in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • 6 - 8 years of experience managing, scaling, and evolving paid social programs.
  • Proven success leading high-performing teams and developing talent.
  • Deep expertise in Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and emerging social platforms.
  • Strong analytical chops - experience with Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups) and hands-on exposure to incrementality, lift testing, and attribution frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million dollar budgets with efficiency and strategic rigor.
  • Confident communicator with experience presenting to senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, high-stakes growth org - with a bias for action, experimentation, and results.
