About the position

Our job to be done as marketers in this role is to inspire customers to consider Walmart as a destination for Back to College (and Sporting Goods when relevant). This role will lead Walmart's Back to College cross category campaign with the goal of changing the perception of Walmart, attracting new Gen Z customers to our business and driving loyalty/repeat amongst existing Walmart shoppers. You will partner cross-functionally with retail, site merchandising, creative teams, as well as paid, owned, and earned media channel teams to create and execute marketing plans for our strategic, high-priority season. You'll also be the lead advocate for Sports, Fun & Fitness and Sporting Goods in evergreen media efforts. The ideal candidate has experience in cross category marketing strategy & brief development and campaign execution. This role requires a strategic marketer who is also an executional rockstar and can handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Back to College is a strategic bet and area of huge opportunity for the company, and this role is perfect for someone who wants to take on a big job, making a huge impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead College campaign.
  • Oversee end-to-end Back to College efforts to drive consideration & conversion for Walmart across categories.
  • Write and deliver seasonal strategy and briefs, approve and align creative concepts with stakeholders, manage fulfillment of CDC and execution of media plans.
  • Represent Campaign across high profile forums with senior leadership.
  • Prepare presentations & speaking points to CMO and partners for Officer level presentations for alignment and performance reporting.
  • Partner closely with the Merchant & Site team and Channel partners to drive the categories.
  • Work with relevant team to align on and intake priorities.
  • Advocate for and funnel them to appropriate teams.
  • Lead advocacy for and negotiation of placement for Sporting Goods Flex as needed to represent HDL across Strategic Marketing-Wide Campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field and 3 years' experience in marketing or related field OR 7 years' experience in marketing or related field.
