The Senior UX Designer leads complex design initiatives that shape product strategy and drive innovation. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on design execution to solve challenging user problems while advancing the organization's design practice. The Senior UX Designer influences product direction through deep user understanding and serves as a design thought leader, mentoring junior designers and partnering with cross-functional leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design for complex product features or complete product experiences
- Define and implement research strategies to uncover user needs and validate design hypotheses
- Create comprehensive design frameworks that balance user goals with business objectives
- Develop design systems and patterns that scale across products and platforms
- Mentor junior designers, providing meaningful feedback and growth opportunities
- Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to influence product strategy
- Drive design quality through critiques, reviews, and establishing best practices
- Identify and advocate for design improvements based on user data, business metrics, and industry trends
Requirements
- 7+ years of UX design experience with demonstrated impact on product outcomes
- Expert knowledge of design methodologies, interaction principles, and visual design
- Strong portfolio showcasing complex problem-solving and strategic thinking
- Experience leading design projects from concept through implementation
- Proven ability to influence product decisions through compelling design narratives
- Expertise in design systems and component-based design approaches
- Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate design decisions to diverse audiences
- Experience with data-informed design and measuring design impact
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field; Master's preferred
