About the position

Verizon Business Group is seeking a commercially minded Senior Manager to lead the product strategy and execution for new, and innovative Network Slicing solutions. This is a high-impact role with significant visibility and requires a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a strong balance of technical understanding and business acumen. This individual will define the business requirements for new features and enhancements, will support product plans while helping a wide range of cross-functional teams understand the product positioning, key benefits and target customers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for new and innovative use cases leveraging network slicing solutions to showcase Verizon's leadership in the space.
  • Responsibility for the product P&L, identifying and managing commercial risks and ensuring strategic product decisions align with the business decisions.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation to identify clear verticals and use cases to develop winning product propositions.
  • Own the network slicing project P&L, including revenue forecasting, pricing strategy, and cost optimization.
  • Manage the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch and ongoing optimization.
  • Identify and evaluate potential partnerships and strategic alliances to accelerate product growth, expand market penetration, and enhance our product offerings.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, marketing, sales, and legal, to ensure successful product delivery and adoption.
  • Monitor product performance, gather customer feedback, and identify areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Develop compelling business cases for new product initiatives, including market opportunity assessment, revenue projections, and ROI analysis.
  • Manage the product budget and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Design and oversee pilot programs to gather valuable customer feedback and refine product offerings.
  • Engage with key customers and industry stakeholders to understand their evolving needs and identify emerging trends.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and evangelist for new network slicing solutions, representing Verizon at industry events and conferences.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape within new network slicing solutions.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including white papers, blog posts, and speaking engagements, to position Verizon as a market leader.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Knowledge of evolving technologies like network slicing or edge computing.
  • Experience coming from a tech partnership development, product commercialization, or strategy background with emerging technologies.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Master's Degree.
  • Experience in telecommunications, wireless or networking technologies (e.g., 5G, FWA, SD-WAN) or device OEM background.
  • Passionate about innovation and have a knack for identifying emerging trends and turning them into market-leading solutions.
  • Highly effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep data and analytic orientation for evidence-based decision making.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation (prep & delivery), and business-facing skills.
