We are seeking Software Engineers with ServiceNow experience who are passionate and will have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One. The Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division is responsible for enabling and evolving Capital One's foundational cloud infrastructure layer, including observability, connectivity, resilience and availability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop in the ServiceNow platform modules for IT Asset Management, IT Risk Management, IT Service Management including CMDB, Incidents, Change, Release, Problem, Customized Workflows, Asset and CMDB, Discovery, Knowledge, and Self-Service Portal.
  • Configure and deploy new functionality using ServiceNow and related web technologies.
  • Understand business requirements and design solutions using ServiceNow modules and custom apps.
  • Ensure appropriate SDLC/DevOps process is adhered to when promoting updates through the development/test/production environment.
  • Collaborate with management, business users, developers and various other stakeholders.
  • Create supporting system documentation including requirement documents, design documents and training guides.
  • Work on issues and requests for platform assistance including end-user trouble inquiries, regular maintenance, enhancements, and defect fixes.
  • Contribute to the creation of custom reports and dashboards as well as generating KPIs and supporting metrics.
  • Develop solutions that require good knowledge of JavaScript and Glide.
  • Integrate and interface ServiceNow with other systems using web services and other web-based technologies such as XML, HTML, AJAX, CSS, HTTP, REST/SOAP.
  • Develop programs using web technologies such as AngularJS, JavaScript, SOAP, REST API, mobile development, Ajax, Jelly, Glide, and jQuery.
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of experience programming and administering ServiceNow
  • 2+ years of experience with the set up and integration of ServiceNow
  • 3+ years of experience using web technologies (Javascript, XML, HTML, AJAX, CSS)
  • 2+ years of Java development experience
  • 3+ years of ServiceNow development customization experience, including screen tailoring, workflow administration, report setup, data imports, LDAP/SSO integration, custom scripting, and third-party software integrations
  • 3+ years experience in client-side and server-side objects of ServiceNow (Client Scripts, Catalog Client Scripts, UI Policy, Catalog UI Policy, BR, Script Include, ACL, Form Design, Form Layout changes, Workflows, UI Action, Ui Context Menu, Transform Maps, configuring DS, writing Email scripts, Email notification, Email Templates, Field Styles, Dynamic Pages, Static Pages)
  • 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
  • 3+ years of experience in open source frameworks
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
