Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Help build and maintain our cloud-based data foundation.
• Provide the building blocks for self-service data and analytics solutions across the firm.
• Collaborate with the business and other engineering teams.
• Lead design and code reviews.
• Support and mentor other team members.
• Partner with members of NISA's business departments to understand requirements and design solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a field requiring strong analytical and quantitative skills, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or Information Systems.
• Minimum of five years of experience developing and supporting enterprise-grade solutions.
• Experience with the modernization of operational and analytical data utilizing disparate platforms, i.e., SQL Server, Postgres, Databricks, Snowflakes etc.
• Experience developing with an object-oriented language, such as C# or Java.
• Experience developing cloud native solutions, preferably in AWS and Databricks.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in an enterprise setting.
• Interest in working with modern technologies, including containerization.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience developing in Python.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and big data concepts.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, and front-end frameworks.
• Previous professional experience in financial services sector.
• Experience developing in a statistical language, such as MATLAB or R.
