Responsibilities

  • Implement the steps of DevSecOps practices across product teams to enhance the security of applications.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security standards, tools, and best practices for product software teams.
  • Educate and empower engineers to focus on solving unique business problems by reducing their time spent on general software issues and rework.
  • Collaborate with product teams to integrate security measures seamlessly into the development process without hindering productivity.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve security processes, tools, and practices.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on security issues and provide guidance to teams on mitigating potential vulnerabilities.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in security threats and technologies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher).
  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on DevSecOps.
  • 4+ years of experience with product delivery within a secure development framework.
  • 4+ years of experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines.
  • 4+ years of experience in object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and practices.
  • Expert level of understanding of security principles and practices in the context of the SDLC.
  • Expert level of familiarity with Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with security tools and technologies such as static analysis tools, dynamic analysis tools, and container security.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to teach and influence engineering teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
