About the position

Veranex has an exciting opportunity to join the UX/UI team (User Experience & User Interface). You will be leading Client Programs that span early conceptualization through production of digital solutions in native mobile, web and embedded hardware applications. This role reports to the Manager of UX/UI Design and collaborates with Research and Design teams globally. As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will be part of a cross-functional team of Project and Functional Leads, UX/UI Designers, Researchers, Industrial Designers, Software Engineers and more to design digital solutions that meet user needs, mitigate risk, and delight clients. The designer is responsible for representing the user to deliver thoughtful design solutions. You will ensure that all elements of the digital user experience is optimized for improved usability, accessible interaction, information and visual design. The ideal candidate should be an innovative, creative and well-organized self-starter. Passionate for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to design problems by staying up-to-date with best practices and emerging trends in user experience design and user interface technology.

Responsibilities

  • UX/UI functional lead supporting client programs in the med tech space.
  • Leading the UX design of new digital products, their education and product labeling.
  • Support cross functional project teams in a lead designer role, with the ability to create deliverables that translate unmet user needs into design solutions.
  • Support a range of deliverables that could include low-fidelity wireframes, information architectures, workflow diagrams, interactive prototypes through defining a UI Specification and Style Guide for software implementation.
  • Ability to visually communicate clinical data in digital applications through story telling.
  • Design labeling for improved user experience, education and risk reduction.
  • Support user experience design for instructions for use (IFU's), quick reference guides (QRG), On device and labeling interactive users guides.
  • Support a culture of critical review and design critique to create intuitive and effective experiences.
  • Assist with clinical site visits, user research, concept feedback sessions and usability testing of early static stimuli / interactive prototypes.
  • Collaborate with Design Research, Industrial Design, Human Factors, and Software Engineering to develop digital solutions.
  • Present design solutions to clients with clear design intent.
  • Plan design activities for the UX/UI team to ensure success on client programs.
  • Advise client relationships as a design lead and support project team's goals.
  • Develop client presentations, capturing the design process.
  • Work through tight deadlines by planning activities and setting expectations.
  • Support and build team culture and discipline expertise.
  • Provide leadership, training, guidance, and support to UX/UI staff by mentoring junior level designers.
  • Share knowledge and actively listen for the team's needs.
  • Assist management with team-building activities as needed.
  • Gain awareness of business development activities.
  • Understand the proposal process in business development activities.
  • Advocate in the UX/UI design community to establish themselves as a leader.

Requirements

  • BFA, BS, BA or BSID in User Experience, UI Design, Graphic Design, Interactive Design, Industrial Design or related discipline.
  • 3-6 years of experience designing digital products in UX and UI.
  • A portfolio of professional UX/UI Design for mobile, web and/or embedded hardware applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of user experience and digital user interface design.
  • Working knowledge of technical software such as Figma, HTML/CSS, iOS, Android, Design Systems and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Experience in medical devices and healthcare software solutions.
  • Experience with healthcare industry and specialty experience in medical device markets.
  • Track record of thoughtful, user-focused product insights, with the ability to handle ambiguity while working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with working in a collaborative environment using agile methods.
  • Working knowledge of software and developer languages.
  • User Research Study experience (Contextual Inquiry, Formative, Validation, etc.).
  • Medical device labeling and packaging design experience.
