About the position

The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate or Experienced Software Engineer to join the Software Engineering Simulation and Integration team located in Seattle, WA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) business organization. The Software Engineering Simulation and Integration organization is seeking a software engineer to join our Flight Deck Modeling & Sim Integration team. In this role, you will support development and release of Integrated Aircraft Configurations. You will design, implement, and maintain wide variety of software tools that will help system designers to design and run their models in a simulated environment. You will work with our group of experienced engineers from Boeing Test and Evaluation, Modeling and Simulation & also Boeing Enterprise Simulation Test and Analysis Framework (BESTAF) as they work to develop requirements and new products for current and future airplane programs. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate and Experienced Software Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and release of IAC (Integrated Aircraft Configurations)
  • Develop software applications that will be running at system engineers work stations, labs and possibly cloud environments
  • Develop and maintain various tools that supports Modeling and Simulation tasks
  • Work with modeling & simulation engineers to define and develop advanced flight displays and applications in support of various projects and studies
  • Provide support for testing and demonstration sessions

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience using Linux/Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge/experience in Modeling and Simulation
  • 1+ years of programming experience -preferably C/C++/Python, Java, Web technologies
  • 1+ years of software development experience with application integration and system architecture, utilizing standard IT lifecycle methodologies and tools
  • 2+ years of experience with Interface Control Document (XML, JSON)
  • 1+ years of experience with Pytorch, SciKit Learn, Tensorflow, or similar backend frameworks

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Expertise with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot and solve problems
  • Expertise with Artificial Intelligence
  • Source Control systems – Gitlab
  • Knowledge of airplane systems
  • Expertise with cloud-deployed application architectural patterns/designing cloud services
