About the position
Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking multiple Software Dev Engineer II positions in New York, New York. The role involves designing, developing, implementing, testing, and documenting embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services. The engineer will translate functional requirements into robust, efficient, supportable solutions that integrate well within the overall system architecture. Responsibilities include participating in the full development cycle from design to maintenance, producing comprehensive software documentation, evaluating software products and tools, and mentoring junior development engineers. The position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a salary range of $158,100 to $213,800 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, test, and document embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services.
- Translate functional requirements into robust, efficient, supportable solutions.
- Participate in the full development cycle from design to maintenance.
- Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation.
- Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools.
- Mentor junior development engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- One year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Experience in designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- Experience in Object Oriented Design.
