About the position
APPLE INC has the following available in Elk Grove, California. Provide database support for our on-premise and cloud hosted singlestore clusters, work on complex technical issues and resolving critical outages. Develop automation platform to manage infrastructure rollouts across cloud providers. Partner with engineering team to optimize performance of services for cloud architecture. Understand and help to improve complex SQL behavior to diagnose bugs or improve performance. Design and develop new systems to enhance database performance with good throughput and low latency. Ensure data consistency and durability with breakthrough performance and scalability. Dive into the internals of our query optimizer to improve the query performance and optimize resource utilization. Keep up to date on the ways statistical information is collected on tables and used in our cost based query optimizer. Reproduce query performance problems across various that are making your job easier on-premise and cloud platforms to understand the whole scope of an issue, even parts that are Linux or systems related. Discover how even small changes in query text can achieve 10x performance gains. Identify and reproduce product issues and submit support tickets or feature requests to singlestore support. Collaborate with development teams, technical project managers to keep all teams up to date with current issues a team may be facing. Work to streamline and improve various Engineering processes and tools, write documents and run-books, and help the team continually improve efficiency and effectiveness. Lead innovation for technical components, systems, and features. Automate and test own code to improve overall software quality that are making the job easier. Optimize telemetry platform to identify impacting events while providing relevant data to drive debugging. Manage his project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. Mentor and train other team members on design techniques, and coding standards. Debug Cluster events and conduct follow up post mortem and RCA analysis. Actively participate in technical POCs to optimize database experience and adoption. Participate in a SLA-driven on-call rotation, which will include after-hours, weekend, and rotating holiday participation. 40 hours/week.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- 1 year of experience with Python.
- 1 year of experience with Unix Administration.
- 1 year of experience with Shell Scripting.
- 1 year of experience with Oracle.
- 1 year of experience with MySQL.
- 1 year of experience with PL-SQL.
