About the position

APPLE INC has the following available in San Diego, California. Design, develop, and implement camera and Apple Neural Engine firmware, including application logic and firmware/driver integration for Apple products. Work closely with hardware engineers to integrate and validate firmware with simulators or hardware components. Implement and optimize image processing algorithms for tasks like image capture, enhancement, and video streaming. Develop and integrate the machine learning algorithm implementation in both iOS/MacOS kernel and user space. Develop low-level device drivers for sophisticated image processing pipelines in embedded systems for Apple's latest SoC blocks and chipsets. Work with higher-level software clients who are using cameras, understanding their requirements, use cases, and limitations before designing, implementing, and testing the camera software stack. Design and implement camera features in embedded systems for Apple products. Work on validation and provide software support to factory testing. Domestic travel required 30%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 - $204,000/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Utilizing C/C++ to develop highly efficient firmware.
  • Developing firmware on real-time operating systems.
  • Utilizing tools like GDB/LLDB for firmware debugging.
  • Knowledge of stress test, API test, unit test, and integration test.
  • Leveraging image processing related domain knowledge for image signal processing firmware development.
  • Leveraging ARM processor-related domain knowledge for firmware development and debugging.
  • Leveraging multi-task and multi-threading related domain knowledge to develop highly efficient firmware.
  • Leveraging sensor, I2C, and peripheral related domain knowledge for silicon bring-up.
  • Utilizing Python for automation testing and platform-dependent code generation.
