Software Development Engineer III, React Native

About the position

Join Premera as a Software Development Engineer III and help create the next generation of mobile applications in React Native. This hybrid role is based in Mountlake Terrace, Washington, where you will be a key team member responsible for analyzing, designing, coding, testing, maintaining, debugging, and modifying software applications. You will work in an agile team environment, providing solutions to complex problems while ensuring adherence to best practices and organizational objectives. Responsibilities

• Consult with business partners and IT leaders to identify and understand problems or improvement opportunities.
• Analyze moderate to high-risk business needs to determine solutions.
• Design solutions on various platforms by studying requirements and recommending alternatives.
• Develop and modify code and system set-up based on program specifications using multiple programming languages.
• Apply Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD) practices.
• Perform testing using both unit testing and document test results.
• Produce technical documentation and notifications for changes to production systems.
• Analyze production problems and work with the team to implement solutions.
• Support project initiatives and ensure development milestones are met.
• Provide feedback on peer designs and act as a technical resource for the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• 5 years of software development experience.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle and proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Knowledge of React Native.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with cloud solutions.
• Experience in the healthcare industry or a highly regulated environment.
• Technical knowledge of tools used at Premera (e.g., Facets).
• Previous experience in an agile environment.
• Exposure to API and service-based technologies.
• Experience using and creating automated test tools.
