About the position

As a Computer Vision Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced computer vision algorithms to enable photorealistic reconstruction for immersive applications. You will work closely with our research team to bring innovative computer vision solutions to production. Your expertise in 3D reconstruction, Gaussian Splatting, computer vision, and graphics will be crucial in pushing the boundaries of augmented and mixed reality.

Responsibilities

  • Design new computer vision solutions or bring existing ideas to production with scale, reliability, and performance in mind.
  • Complete medium to large computer vision features spanning multiple tasks independently with minimal to no guidance.
  • Understand the assigned codebase or system and capacity to identify and drive changes as needed.
  • Effectively collaborate with other engineers and researchers on the team and driving collaboration with cross functional and partner teams.
  • Develop well-organized code, proper testing and documentation, and building on top of existing code or building new solutions from scratch as needed.

Requirements

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
  • Proven experience with C++ and/or Python, including experience with modern features.
  • Track record of delivering research into production, driving algorithmic changes towards on-device optimization.
  • Expertise in computer vision, and machine learning domain knowledge in 3D reconstruction.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in the following fields: Computer Science, Computer Vision, or Machine Learning or related.
  • Familiarity with 3D reconstruction including gaussian splatting, structure-from-motion, pose estimation, feature detection, and tracking.
  • Familiarity with graphics systems including rendering and performance optimization.
  • Experience working with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.

Benefits

  • $56.25/hour to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
