Software Engineer II - Backend

About the position

MINT MOBILE is seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join the Platform Engineering Team! Individual reports to the Lead Software Engineer. Role is remote; must reside in the United States. Your usual day of awesomeness includes: Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services. Integrate our platform with external vendors. Work closely with cross-functional partners in design, product, marketing, data and engineering to bring new features from design to production. Collaborate on code reviews and technical design documents to ensure the consistent application of best practices across relevant domains. Mentor and guide junior engineers. Business Hours: PST Timezone. This role requires an On-Call Rotation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services
• Integrate our platform with external vendors
• Work closely with cross-functional partners in design, product, marketing, data and engineering to bring new features from design to production
• Collaborate on code reviews and technical design documents to ensure the consistent application of best practices across relevant domains
• Mentor and guide junior engineers

Requirements

• Significant experience in Node.js/TypeScript and some modern frameworks
• Significant experience in database technologies such as SQL vs NoSQL vs In-memory
• Experience with AWS and understanding of fundamentals of AWS
• Knowledge of the benefits of writing clean, understandable and maintainable code
• Understanding of high availability, robust systems and scalability principles
• Experience in projects where trade-offs to meet both technical and business requirements had to be communicated clearly
• 2-3 years of experience
