The following position is to join our RTX BBN Team: For over 70 years, scientists and engineers in diverse disciplines at RTX BBN Technologies have collaborated to solve real-world problems through research, exploration, development and prototyping. We are seeking a Software Engineer with a interest in real-time embedded C system development to join our Physical Sciences & Systems business unit located a stone’s throw from seaside Newport, Rhode Island.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software for deployed DoD Linux real-time software systems hosted on VPX and server based solutions.
  • Develop software and interface specifications for external recorders, sensors, and communication systems.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team testing your contributions and analyzing performance.
  • Integrate components you develop into a larger system in preparation for real world testing and deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science and a minimum of 2 years of prior experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 0 years experience.
  • Active/current US Government DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience developing software in and for a Red Hat Linux environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency using C/C++.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, or Coverity.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and/or optimizing algorithms in C/C++.
  • Experience with hard-real-time processing optimization.
