In this role, you will support the CEW development team in the testing, verifying, and validation of firmware and software behaviors. You will help support TASER Core, Civilian, VR, and various pillars in the creation of physical hardware, software tools, and combinations of both. Your responsibilities will include creating and developing process improvement materials such as documentation, acceptance testing, and automation verification. You will validate product behavior expectations, develop utilities to support cross-functional groups, and create fixture equipment for non-production environments. You will also bring online Automated Test Stations (ATS) for new products, ensuring quality performance of all life-saving devices made by AXON.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CEW development team in testing, verifying, and validating firmware and software behaviors.
  • Create and develop process improvement materials such as documentation, acceptance testing, and automation verification.
  • Validate behavior expectations of products and develop utilities to support cross-functional groups.
  • Create fixture equipment for non-production environments.
  • Bring online Automated Test Stations (ATS) for new products.
  • Draft and publish documentation related to product testing and verification processes.
  • Collaborate with other pillars within AXON for release management and artifact maintenance.
  • Instantiate ATS systems and manage physical components for acceptance testing.
  • Refine existing process documentation to optimize content.
  • Lead the creation of small fixture devices for testing physical interactions with products.
  • Use Git for collaboration and documentation purposes.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate/Master BS, Military Equivalency, or Professional Certifications.
  • 3 years of Validation or Quality Assurance background.
  • 3-5+ years of Professional Software Development experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, C#, C++, Rust, C.
  • Experience with Robotics, Automation Equipment, PLC, VHDL, LabView, Simulink, Raspberry Pi.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Engineering, Datasheet, and Component Selection.
  • Understanding of Mechanical Design Considerations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Robotic Development (Motor Control, Pneumatics, DSP, Industrial Automation).
  • Experience in Software or Firmware Development (Scripting, Functional, Hardware Integration).
  • Familiarity with Engineering Tool Operation (Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Digital Multimeters).
  • Experience with Industrial Tool Operation (CNC, 3D Modeling and Printing, Laser/Water Cutting).
  • General Public Speaking Capabilities and Presentation preparation skills.
