Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain a scalable test automation framework for desktop applications
- Implement mocks or stubs for external dependent components like middleware, databases, and third-party services
- Participate in routine code reviews and proactively work with the development team to improve test code coverage
- Maintain the test suite by analyzing and resolving test flakiness
- Ensure the test architecture is responsive to evolving needs
- Provide single-click batch-test execution and report generation via the CI/CD tool
- Collaborate with and mentor QA team members, developers, and SREs on functional test framework setup, execution, and reporting
- Automate application deployment checkout and build certification processes across environments
- Assist with test documentation and production deployment checkouts
- Embrace and enforce NinjaTrader SDLC and information security standards
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in QA testing and software automation
- Strong understanding of test automation best practices, object-oriented design principles, system testing methodologies, and the software testing lifecycle
- Proficiency in building and maintaining JavaScript-based test frameworks such as WebdriverIO, Playwright, or Cypress
- Experience testing front-end applications, API services, and relational databases
- Familiarity with Jira or similar defect management tools
- Experience with tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions is a plus
- Familiarity with BDD tools like Cucumber and device farms testing is a big plus
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
