About the position

We're seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead frontend development initiatives using modern web technologies, particularly Svelte and TypeScript. This role will be instrumental in architecting and delivering high-performance web applications while mentoring team members and establishing technical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop sophisticated frontend solutions using Svelte, TypeScript, and related modern web technologies
  • Lead the technical direction of frontend development practices and establish coding standards
  • Mentor and guide development teams while fostering a culture of engineering excellence
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline deployment processes
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define technical requirements and solutions
  • Drive technical decision-making for frontend architecture and technology selection
  • Contribute to system design and architecture discussions across multiple teams
  • Implement best practices for testing, performance optimization, and accessibility

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • 8+ years of experience with modern frontend frameworks (Svelte, React, or Vue)
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript
  • Extensive experience with DevOps practices and tools (Git, Docker, k8s, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines)
  • Proven track record of leading complex technical projects
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Strong understanding of web performance optimization and security best practices
  • Excellence in technical communication and documentation

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Svelte and SvelteKit
  • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and solutions
