As a Software Engineer on our Luau UI Ecosystem team, you will play a key role in improving the future of UI development on Roblox. Our team’s mission is to improve the performance & accelerate the development of features and improve the developer experience for our feature teams in the Roblox App and Roblox Studio, while ensuring accessible and consistent design. We aim to make developing a flexible, performant UI a delightful experience!
Responsibilities
- Develop UI components for use on various product surfaces.
- Develop and maintain accessible UI components and patterns.
- Partner with feature developers to ship gold standard UI implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across our products.
- Translate design concepts into functional, high-quality Luau code.
- Adopt early Roblox engine technology and help dogfood our own products.
- Contribute to enhancements of our component library and associated tooling.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of design principles and best practices.
- Great communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A passion for creating delightful UI.
- Roblox / Luau development experience is a strong plus.
- Being a member of the open source community is a plus.
