We bring Public and Private, Civilian and Military expertise to every case. We are hiring a Software Engineer 2 to work in the Ft. Meade, MD vicinity. Position location is subject to change based on central MD client's needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support GOTS product on AWS platform
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements
  • Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results
  • Resolve software problem reports
  • Utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment
  • Provide specific input to the software components of system design including hardware/software trade-offs and requirements analysis
  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
  • Debug existing software and correct defects
  • Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
  • Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
  • Code with programming languages and databases including HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Write or review software and system documentation
  • Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used
  • Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries
  • Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards
  • Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance
  • Design, develop and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models
  • Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
  • Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure work is completed in accordance with the software development process
  • Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements
  • Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • Two (2) years experience developing and customizing core applications such as Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and Service Catalog
  • Four (4) years of IT application systems experience in technology solutions delivery
  • Experience creating and implementing scripts, business rules, policies, ACLs and otherwise configure or modify ServiceNow applications
  • Experience integrating third-party software and APIs with ServiceNow using REST and SOAP
  • Experience coding in scripting languages (i.e.: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AngularJS, JSON or other languages used in ServiceNow)
  • Four (4) years experience with ServiceNow Implementations
  • Two (2) years of experience developing on the ServiceNow Platform
  • ServiceNow System Administrator certification OR ServiceNow Application Developer certification
