About the position

The Toyota Financial Services, Enterprise Tools team is seeking a highly motivated Cloud Engineer to help our growing Enterprise tools needs. This position will be responsible for building world-class platform engineering for our development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a strategic roadmap for technology initiatives within the Enterprise Platform and Automation domain.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technology solutions that enhance employee experience.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve and innovate our technology offerings.
  • Drive initiatives to enable self-service capabilities and automation across all supported technology areas.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual efforts, and increase efficiency through automation.
  • Champion the adoption of self-service tools and platforms to empower employees to resolve issues independently.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-native applications using AWS or other cloud providers.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, containerization, and cloud computing, coupled with expertise in non-functional aspects of software architecture such as scalability, reliability, and performance optimization.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills in languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript for developing automation tools, custom integrations, and backend services.
  • Proficiency in test-driven development (TDD) for both application code and infrastructure automation, ensuring robust and maintainable systems.
  • Hands-on experience with a wide range of AWS services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, and EKS, demonstrating the ability to architect full-stack solutions in the cloud.
  • Mastery of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) including advanced configuration, customization, and integration capabilities, demonstrated through progressively challenging roles.
  • Good understanding of DevSecOps principles using AWS technologies is a must.
  • Experience in containerization technologies, including Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, or AWS Fargate.
