Software Engineer

About the position

As a full stack developer, you will be responsible for developing high quality production code, including active backend and front-end development. You will develop architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring that design constraints are met by the software code development. Your role will involve performing design, development, and technical troubleshooting to build solutions or break down technical problems. You will lead sizable projects independently and drive them to completion from end to end, engaging in discussions with business counterparts, designing solutions, and being involved in hands-on development of those solutions. Additionally, you will design, deploy, and manage cloud-native applications with a focus on microservices architecture and continuous delivery. Interacting with business users and project managers to understand and analyze requirement specifications and determine realistic delivery timelines will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will plan biweekly releases of the applications by understanding business priorities, estimating the sprint work, and working on production deployments. Coaching junior developers and conducting meaningful code reviews to ensure best practices are followed will also be part of your duties. Furthermore, you will provide production support for critical applications during support windows and offer timely help to business users in case of issues and queries, as well as troubleshoot development and production issues across multiple applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study.
• 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Consultant (IT), or related occupation.
• 3 years of experience designing and building general ledger or financial reporting-related applications.
• Experience with Java, J2EE, and the spring ecosystem including Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Security.
• Experience utilizing Oracle SQL to design database queries and optimize database performance.
• Experience using Hibernate for application and Oracle Database integration.
• Experience developing scalable and responsive user interfaces using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, JQuery, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience developing and integrating services into legacy systems using RESTful API.
• Experience managing containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications using AWS and Cloud Foundry.
• Experience designing and implementing unit, integration, and performance tests using Junit, Selenium, Cucumber, and JEST frameworks.
• Experience using Git and Bitbucket for source code version control.
• Experience with DevOps practices including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI and CD).
• Experience automating build and deployment pipelines using Jenkins and Maven.
