As a Software Engineer supporting Digital R&D Team in Lake Forest, CA, you will develop software, services and solutions for surgical vision care products. You will take on software development, maintenance and/or software test roles, on programs that make a big difference to the United States and our allies. The role is responsible for deriving software requirements, architecture, and project timeline by close collaboration with product owners, technical leads, project manager, architect and other engineers. The responsibility includes the delivery of software functionality as well as required test- and design documentation and to adhere to regulatory requirements for medical software. The Software Engineer is expected to also work closely with the Digital Health workstream and functional owners - UX, Architecture, Products, Cybersecurity, etc. - to develop, maintain and support our Software as Medical Device (SaMD) applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software in accordance with technological, regulatory, life cycle and organizational needs
  • Work with external and internal software development teams and test engineers to identify, investigate, and resolve incidents
  • Support and drive the adoption of CI/CD for build, testing, documentation, and report generation throughout development teams
  • Apply, and maintain standards for software systems quality operating methods, processes
  • Conduct evaluation of software development and maintenance activities including requirements, design, documentation, integration, test, verification, and validation
  • Ensure that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
