Software Engineer

About the position

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in Bedford, MA. The ideal candidate will report to the VP of IT and will be responsible for both frontend and backend development tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of modern web technologies and the ability to work independently while adhering to departmental processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate work estimates for completion of tasks.
• Build frontend web applications using React, Redux, TypeScript, Bootstrap 5.
• Build backend API endpoints and middleware in Node.js and the Universe environment.
• QA own work and other employee's code changes and build automated tests.
• Learn and work in custom ERP system in addition to building web applications.

Requirements

• 2 years of full-stack development and project implementation.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, REST API integrations, and MVC and object-oriented coding practices.
• BS or BA degree in computer science preferred.
• Sound analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Work as a self-starter and follow department processes and procedures.
• Have a strong work ethic and be able to adjust work schedule to meet deadlines.
• Ability to learn quickly, and to take a project from beginning to end.
• Willingness and ability to work with and modernize the legacy ERP system to meet fast-moving business requirements.
