We are currently hiring a Software Engineering (SW) Section Manager to join the Missile Defense & Surveillance Software team in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

  • Perform line management for a section of software engineers within the department.
  • Ensure each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement.
  • Provide performance development and appraisal processes, as well as salary planning.
  • Support hiring and staff planning efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Provide technical oversight of employees in support of their work assignments.
  • Support a major program, including possible leadership or key individual contributor role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • 10 years of relevant software experience.
  • Experience designing and developing in C++, Java or other Object-Oriented Programming languages.
  • Experience with Modeling and Simulation (M&S), Radar, or related domain.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.

  • Self-disciplined with a proven applicable technical background.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and work well in a team.
  • Experience developing and leading in an Agile environment.

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field.
  • Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (e.g., Bitbucket, Confluence, Crucible, Fisheye, Jira), Jenkins, Eclipse, etc.
  • Experience with current Missile defense programs with specific experience in large, complex systems.
