We have an immediate need for an “onsite” Software Quality Engineer I (Quality Assurance/Compliance) to support Air Dominance. The successful candidate must reside within 50 miles of Tucson (travel compensation not included). Within Quality & Mission Assurance, the Software Quality Engineering (SWQE) department provides services to the Business throughout the product development lifecycle. Job duties include classified activities in secure labs and unclassified activities in a dedicated workspace. Common SWQE tasks involve review of SW Release Packages (Windchill PDM), software work items (Azure DevOps Server), SW Test Reports (STRs), physical media, test artifacts, and participation in Peer Reviews (SW, SE), Control Boards (CCB/ERB, DCRB), Tracking Books (Metrics), Command Media (Policies), Test Witnessing (FQT), and Process Evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure digital products adhere to contractual and corporate requirements.
  • Review and approve inputs and outputs to/from Software, Systems, and Integration & Test organizations.
  • Leverage modern experiences with software development and quality best practices.
  • Perform evaluations and risk assessments across lifecycle.
  • Facilitate root cause and continuous improvement with corrective actions.
  • Ensure integrity of the technical data package.
  • Identify, collect, and measure software quality attributes, metrics, and data.
  • Monitor and participate in test and release.
  • Interact with customers, product development, and test personnel.
  • Provide guidance to senior managers, team members, and group peers.

Requirements

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Two years or less working experience in a Quality or Technical role applying advanced concepts across at least THREE of the following: Compliance Evaluation, Requirements Verification, Software Processes, Maintenance Processes, Defect Management, Integration Support, Test Witnessing, Records Management, Release Management, Technology Knowledge, Analysis, Metrics.
  • Current and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Quality concepts via ISO9001, AS9100, AS9115.
  • Experience with a Quality Management System (QMS) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Experience with Integrated Development Environment (IDE) applications, modeling, or databases (Visual Studio, DOORS, Eclipse).
  • Experience in related processes (SCRUM teams, sprints / increments, stories / points, backlog / burndown, defect), or Rapid Application Development, with continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD).
  • Experience with Toolchains (Jira, Confluence, ADS, Jenkins, GitHub, Coverity, Grafana, JFrog Artifactory).
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement methods (e.g., Six Sigma, CORE).
  • Experience in test-driven development and phase-gate reviews (e.g., TDMC, RLPM, IPDS, other).
