About the position

The Software Test Engineer Co-op at Boston Scientific will join a highly effective product quality team, working side-by-side with developers in an Agile environment, developing test cases for a wide range of software components, including user interface, algorithms, and back-end data handling. The position will also include writing or updating test cases, manual execution of tests, and interacting with a variety of electronic equipment in the lab. Besides manual testing, you would be involved working in test automation which requires coding skills in Python or MATLAB or C++. Our tools include Squish, Python, C++, MATLAB, and Linux.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and execute test cases to ensure the quality of the product by proving system functionality, verify business and user requirements are met in Electrophysiology domain area.
  • Manual execution of tests or execute automated test scripts.
  • Ensure that tests have been conducted by written procedures.
  • Document test results and write test reports.
  • Record and track defects in a bug tracking system.

Requirements

  • Current Bachelor's student in your Sophomore, Junior, Senior year, or grad student.
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Ability to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Classroom project experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior software testing experience preferred.
  • Some programming experience is desirable. Working knowledge of Python, or MATLAB and/or C++ is highly desirable.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. General report writing/documentation experience.
  • A natural attention to detail and a penchant for organizing and documenting.
  • A good learner who can master complex software and quickly adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently as well as work collaboratively as part of a team.
