About the position

The Special Education SMI/DCD Setting III Teacher position at Ordean East Middle School is a full-time role (1.0 FTE) for the fiscal year 2025-2026. The position is designed to support students with special needs, specifically those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD). The teacher will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and the community to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that inspires every student to achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support students with special needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with general education teachers to integrate special education students into mainstream classrooms.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate the diverse learning needs of students.
• Monitor and assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.

Requirements

• Current Minnesota K-12 Special Education ASD or DCD teaching licensure.
