Our Creativity Apps team is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with a proven track record of building mission-critical, high-performance backend systems. Our team is composed of a close-knit, highly collaborative group of engineers who are committed to excellence throughout the entire product lifecycle. We want team members with extensive hands-on experience in developing and enhancing backend pipelines and services, familiar with client-server communication protocol and have a strong background in designing highly scalable systems. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and bring a strategic approach to both technical innovation and system scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the next generation of applications and tools by working with pioneering technologies.
  • Set the direction and architecture of the backend system and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and QA teams.
  • Influence system design and project planning.
  • Develop and enhance backend pipelines and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience in shipping scalable, maintainable, and testable backend systems.
  • Expertise in Java and Spring.
  • Extensive experience working with NoSQL data stores such as Cassandra and Solr.
  • Experience with message or event driven architectures (such as Kafka).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with partner teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience serving as a technical lead.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (such as Jenkins) and build tools (such as Gradle and Bazel).
  • Prioritizes unit, integration, and end-to-end tests as part of development.
