About the position

The Performance Improvement SVG Senior Director collaborates with the PI AVP Operations and Analytics, SVG Division President and CFO to define and execute strategies for the SVG Surgery Centers. The SVG Senior Director will establish and lead performance and process improvement of SVG surgical operations, and routine labor management, and other operational/financial improvements. This position provides leadership to the SVG Division Team to ensure the strategies are executed at the local level. This individual works directly with SVG division, Surgery Centers, and physician representatives to collaborate and deliver timely assessments, action plans, and results that improve SVG Surgery Center operations. This position is critical in achieving targeted objectives through process, cost and productivity improvements. This position is held accountable for defined performance improvement goals including labor management and targeted PI traditional engagements to meet the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership support to the SVG President and CFO in managing performance improvement and labor management based upon the needs of the SVG organization.
  • In conjunction with the PI AVP Operations and Analytics, SVG President and CFO, develops the annual SVG strategic Labor plan for the division.
  • Develops measurement tools to track and trend operational efficiency and financial performance of SVG Surgery Centers.
  • Works collaboratively with SVG division and Surgery Center leaders to develop process improvement and labor management standards and controls followed by execution and sustainability of standards.
  • Manages SVG division's staffing/productivity management support, including specific productivity goals to be accomplished, and directs the activities of the Division aimed toward meeting those strategic goals.
  • Performs monitoring of throughput metrics and analysis of variances.
  • Drives business decisions through the use of analytics.
  • Develops a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Communicates timely and effectively in a matrix environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree required.
  • 10+ years healthcare experience required preferably with HCA.
  • Performance improvement and/or Management Engineering related experience required.
  • Experience and skills in consulting, hospital operations management, health care financial management, strategic planning and relationship management required.
  • Executive level interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a matrix environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
