Relationships Platform and Services are core to Amazon websites, mobile apps, Alexa, and physical stores serving millions of requests per second at single-digit millisecond latency. We provide authoritative Related product sets to power product discovery and shopping experiences. Our team owns highly available distributed micro-services, Machine-learning and rule-based validation systems, data stores containing billions of records, and systems that make related product sets available across Amazon. Our team is in NYC. As a Senior Software Engineer (L6), you will own the architecture, design, and implementation of complex distributed systems to expand our core platform that is responsible for ingesting seller feeds, processing and validating what goes into Amazon catalog and provide APIs to read data from Amazon Catalog. This is an opportunity to work on high visibility initiatives across Amazon. We maintain a high bar for operational and engineering excellence, which helps keep our operational load manageable. We are looking for a talented Software Developer with a strong technical background, customer obsession and bias for action with a track record of leading and delivering robust solutions. You will be expected to be proficient technically, mentor and grow junior developers, encourage software development best practices, and iterate quickly.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Nice-to-haves
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
