About the position
SimpliSafe is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a backend focus to join our Authorization and Messaging Platform team. We embrace modern software design and craftsmanship, and support and own our work through its entire lifecycle. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the messaging tools and CIAM platform that our engineering staff use every day to build our products that keep our customers safe — everything from day-to-day bug squashing, to the technical design and architecture of authorization and messaging products.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the messaging tools and CIAM platform.
- Support and own work through its entire lifecycle.
- Coordinate with other engineering teams and product owners.
- Ship complex, highly scalable applications.
Requirements
- Experience successfully shipping complex, highly scalable applications.
- Experience developing applications with CIAM systems (Auth0, Keycloak, Cognito, Firebase, etc.) or distributed data stores for messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
- Solid understanding of core web and browser concepts.
- Experience writing web services at scale using Nodejs, Rust, Java, Go, or Python.
- Extensive experience with REST and web technology.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous coding experience in Rust.
- Experience working on products in safety-critical environments.
- Extensive experience with continuous integration & delivery, test automation.
- Experience with cloud technologies and methodologies such as infrastructure-as-code, DevOps.
