About the position

Zscaler is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join our Cyber Security and Data Protection Team. You will build quality products that secure mobile devices, applications, and data. You will develop innovative solutions that are transforming the internet security business, and that millions of users rely on for data protection and comprehensive security. In this role you will work on web filtering, policy enforcement, next-gen firewall, sandboxing, DLP, Saas API, CASB, Sandbox and Endpoint Protection user solutions. This role is onsite in San Jose, CA at least three times a week. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Software Engineering - Data Protection, you will: Design and develop software for scalable distributed systems to provide network security. Participate in all phases of the product development cycle, from requirements, design, through implementation and test. Develop software for machine learning based content categorization systems; develop data security and data leak prevention software solutions. Work on the development of high-performance, fault tolerant and scalable systems; use algorithms and data structures to develop optimal solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software for scalable distributed systems to provide network security

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands on experience programming in C/C++ and python
  • Knowledge of data structures, run time complexities, IPC, FreeBSD/Linux and RPC
  • 5+ years of experience building and scaling Machine Learning (ML) models
  • Hands-on experience with popular public cloud services infrastructure offerings such as AWS, GCP, Azure
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and event messaging such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with machine learning or deep learning related toolset/frameworks, such as Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc
  • Familiarity with networking and networking security
