About the position
SimpliSafe is a high-tech home security company dedicated to protecting homes and fostering a culture of growth and collaboration. We are currently seeking a Staff Software Engineer for our Enterprise Information Systems team, which focuses on enhancing customer interactions with our products and services. This role involves building solutions from inception to production, including design, development, testing, and deployment, while collaborating with various teams to improve processes and workflows.
Responsibilities
- Build solutions from inception to production, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Create reliable services to meet the needs of customers and co-workers.
- Work with e-commerce stakeholders on new features, A/B tests, and the public-facing website.
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs that integrate with various platforms.
- Collaborate with operations teams to integrate tools and services for call centers and fulfillment workflows.
- Ensure quality E2E tests during each stage of CI/CD with QA engineers.
- Build self-service internal tools, write documentation, and shape process improvements.
Requirements
- 7+ years of industry experience.
- Knowledge of REST, GraphQL, and modern web technologies.
- Experience designing and implementing backend services and APIs.
- Demonstrated experience with frontend implementations in modern web frameworks such as React.
- Active participation in code reviews and documentation.
- Familiarity with scalable and fault-tolerant cloud-based microservices using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Comfortable working in a CI/CD environment.
- Agile team experience with a focus on process improvement.
Nice-to-haves
- E-Commerce experience.
- Infrastructure as code and DevOps experience such as Terraform or CDK.
- Experience with NestJS and/or React Router / Remix.
- Knowledge of containerization including Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
- Experience with Commercetools or Contentful.
- Knowledge of functional programming concepts.
- Automation testing experience with tools like Cypress.
- On-call and internal employee support experience.
