Stationary Engineer

About the position

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music is looking for a Journeyman-level Engineer to assist in the O&M of its 1A eight-level facilities located in San Francisco's Civic Center. The incumbent will perform duties as assigned by the CE and ACE and may serve as the onsite engineer on Saturdays. This position is covered under a Local 39 contract at the standard BOMA pay scale.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation and maintenance of the facilities.
• Perform duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer (CE) and Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE).
• Serve as the onsite engineer on Saturdays.

Requirements

• Strong background in Central Plant HVAC.
• Extensive experience with Life Safety, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
• Solid mechanical skills to maintain and repair various types of equipment.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel for documentation.
• Must be bondable with a valid CDL and auto insurance.
• Four years of verifiable Journey-level experience in the repair and servicing of HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
• Completion of a State approved (4 year) Stationary Engineer Apprenticeship Program with 1 year of Journey-level experience will be considered.
• Knowledge of boilers, heating, lighting, ventilating, air conditioning, electrical, refrigeration, and other mechanical equipment.
• High level of awareness of safe operating and repair practices and procedures for building mechanical systems.
• Conditional offer of employment pending drug test clearance and a physical abilities test, which includes lifting 50 lbs.
