About the position

This is a full-time Fall/Winter 2025 Co-op onsite in Herndon VA for currently enrolled students. Quartus Engineering Incorporated is a leading provider of engineering services and integrated hardware solutions for a wide range of clients and industries. We employ advanced computer-aided engineering tools in the areas of optics, structural, thermal, and multi-physics analyses. We couple our engineering analysis capabilities with design, prototype, integration and test capabilities to create solutions for our clients that are of extraordinary value. Quartus is a key contributor to aerospace advancements, specializing in engineering simulation and custom hardware. We’ve played a vital role in a diverse range of optical systems, launch vehicle and spacecraft projects involving design, analysis, testing, and hardware assembly and integration. Our aerospace sector expertise also includes aircraft structural design, analysis, and testing, including support for FAA certifications. Quartus excels in commercial and defense aircraft applications, as well as custom optical systems like laser communications terminals and lidar payloads with both aerial and space applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Project Development by conducting research and gathering data.
  • Participate in the design process by creating drawings, models, or simulations and assist in analyzing designs.
  • Help in hands-on assembly and building prototypes of designs.
  • Support in conducting tests to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in documenting project progress, including creating reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers from different disciplines, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Work on troubleshooting and solving engineering problems as they arise.

Requirements

  • Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors currently enrolled at a four-year institution.
  • Majoring in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
  • Proactive, open-minded, eager to learn and willing to work hard as part of a team.
  • Interested in FEA (finite element analysis).
  • Available full time for specified term (40 hours per week).
  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident).

Benefits

  • Intern/Co-op pay range for students pursuing a Bachelor's degree: $24.00 - 28.00/hour.
  • Intern/Co-op pay range for students pursuing a Master's degree: $28.00 - 32.00/hour.
