Teacher Marketing/Dev - Grades 6-12

About the position

The position is for a Teacher in Marketing/Development at Hull Middle, with a focus on providing appropriate learning experiences for students based on the district's Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum. The teacher will create an environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students. The role requires planning, evaluating, and modifying instructional strategies to meet the needs of students, as well as maintaining professional responsibilities and participating in professional growth activities.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate command of the school subject being taught.
• Develop and prioritize short and long-term instructional objectives based on district AKS curriculum.
• Evaluate, select, and modify resources and activities.
• Provide initial focus for the lesson and communicate specific learning objectives to students.
• Organize content for presentation of the lesson.
• Utilize scientifically researched effective instructional strategies.
• Provide formative assessment that measures student progress toward AKS objectives.
• Provide summative assessment that measures student achievement of objectives.
• Organize learning environment to maximize student time on task.
• Maintain behavior that is conducive to learning.
• Participate in professional growth and professional learning activities.
• Maintain professional responsibilities and act as a role model.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Meets Georgia certification requirements in appropriate field of education.
• Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from a PSC approved college or university.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum.
• Ability to infuse technology into instruction to increase student learning.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Effective human relations skills.
