About the position
Meta Reality Labs (RL) is building products that make it easier for people to connect with others. Mixed Reality (MR) is a team of world-class experts developing and shipping hardware to move our industry-leading mixed reality systems forward. As an Product Design Technical Program Manager for MR Product Engineering, you will lead multidisciplinary programs through the product development cycle. You will establish requirements with internal and external customers, manage program schedules, identify risks, mitigation plans, and clearly communicate them to program stakeholders. We look for technical program managers who have a solid technical foundation, are natural motivators, cross-functional relationship builders and champions for driving the right level of process to ensure smooth and predictable program execution in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience working as a technology development program manager or engineering leadership role in consumer electronics
- Experience in ODM, JDM, and CM vendor engagement models
- Knowledge of phase gate approach to technology development programs
- Experience with mechanical system development, design for manufacturing, tooling, validation and characterization processes
- Adept at communicating, planning, with high level of attention to detail
- Knowledge of program top issue tracking and version control software
- Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams and programs
- Maintains composure in times of ambiguity and change in direction
Nice-to-haves
- 7+ years of experience working in a mechanical engineering field
- Experience in 1P and/or 2P product development, defining requirements and program constraints, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders
