As a Transportation Roadway/Highways Lead Engineer based in Salt Lake City, you will have the chance to utilize your transportation design expertise in roadway/highway to serve on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects. You'll work alongside a leadership team that values collaboration, innovation, and client service. Project opportunities may include highway interchange design, roadway design for new light rail lines, federal lands projects, and local road projects. Responsibilities

  • Lead project designs for roadway/highway infrastructure.
  • Utilize transportation design expertise in large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with Engineers and Project Managers to solve unique challenges.
  • Expand the company's presence in the Utah transportation market.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing design team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred
  • At least 15 years of previous professional engineering roadway design and geometrics experience leading projects
  • Previous Department of Transportation (DOT), County or Municipal experience
  • Strong Civil 3D or MicroStation/OpenRoads background for modeling and preparing construction documents
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and develop teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deep knowledge of the Utah transportation market and established relationships with key clients such as UDOT and local municipalities
  • Strong technical background in transportation infrastructure project delivery such as Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build
  • Passion for mentoring a high-performing design team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment
  • Strong business development acumen to pursue and secure new project opportunities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a servant-leadership mindset.
