About the position

Lynker Corporation is a leading provider of innovative solutions in weather and climate science. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for innovation, Lynker leverages cutting-edge technologies and scientific expertise to support the creation and delivery of improved operational weather forecasts. As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced UI and UX Developer to join our growing team. This position is contingent on winning the contract and will officially be staffed upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Design high-quality, responsive user experiences and user interfaces for a portfolio of NOAA's websites and web applications
  • Take full ownership of projects from design to implementation and deployment
  • Collaborate with project teams to create interfaces based on user requirements, feedback and best practices following an industry standard product development process
  • Develop prototype user experiences with wireframes
  • Develop and maintain applications based on UI guidelines to ensure pages are standards-compliant, universally accessible, cross-browser compatible and maintain visual consistency in accordance with brand standards
  • Collaborate with UI/UX team members to stay up-to-date with new and emerging web design trends and technologies
  • Participate in research, planning, and brainstorming with development and project teams

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in interactive or front-end web design
  • Expertise in CSS and preprocessors (SASS, LESS, etc.)
  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma and InVision
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript and HTML
  • Understand the user experience and how to analyze and test usability
  • A great portfolio that demonstrates your design and web development skills
  • Mobile and responsive design experience
  • Team player with proven ability to work with client and project teams
  • You will be expected to complete an on-site and/or take home assignment for this position

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Agile
  • Experience with frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue
  • Experience with ParcelJS, Webpack or other web application bundlers
  • Experience with static site generators like Middleman, Jekyll or Hugo
  • Experience with Atlassian products
  • Experience with a design system
  • An understanding of 508 Compliance
  • OpenSource contributions and StackOverflow reputation is a plus
