About the position
The User Experience Research, Strategy & Design Team is a dynamic team of mixed method UX Research and Data Strategists, multi-disciplined UX Designers and Copywriters. We proactively uphold our mission to promote a culture of design thinking that results in useful, scalable, engaging and TCGplayer brand-worthy products. We champion a human-centered approach to product design, and advocate for our users as we build alongside product and technology teammates. We are looking for a highly collaborative and motivated Senior User Experience Designer to work within our Product Design Team. You'll join a cross-functional group working on key efforts at TCGplayer. Together, you'll look critically at how our product experiences fit into business goals while also delighting our users. You'll have the opportunity to show your diverse UX background throughout the entire product design process. You will perform agile UX design and usability testing, lead workshops to help teams get to successful solutions, and see products through to delivery. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about beautiful, user-centered design that is heavily rooted in quantitative data and qualitative insights, and experienced in leading design initiatives across the entire product lifecycle within a cross-functional team.
Responsibilities
- Rapidly prototype, build and ideate on designs informed by user needs, data, business objectives and technical capabilities.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, working closely with engineering, product and business partners.
- Create solutions with the appropriate level of detail and fidelity for every UX phase of the product development life cycle.
- Design for accessibility standards and help to maintain standardized design language systems.
- Work closely with UX Researchers/Strategists on testing protocol, collection and synthesis of customer insights.
- Help create new design processes to improve the quality of products delivered while increasing the speed of delivery.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study, or a combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of related experience designing at tech companies or digital agencies.
- Able to successfully manage all aspects of a project from start to finish.
- Proven experience leading full life cycle design projects, from design strategy through execution and market introduction.
- A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating your process for creating user-centered and business impactful design solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Mastery of working within an agile environment and a multidisciplinary team.
- Mastery of standard interactive design tools like Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Extensive experience in creating end-to-end design solutions.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS and frontend frameworks like Vue.
- Extensive experience conducting agile user research, with a focus on usability testing and solution mapping for applications, software and websites.
Nice-to-haves
- BA/BS Degree in a design-related field.
- Experience in consumer-facing eCommerce, online marketplace.
- Jira experience - working in an agile environment.
- Familiarity with the collectible space and what is important to buyers.
- General eCommerce experience - understand the difference between buyers and sellers and optimize a buyer experience to increase engagement.
- AB Testing/Unmoderated testing experience.
