At its dedicated Innovation Lab, EVgo performs extensive interoperability testing and has ongoing technical collaborations with leading automakers and industry partners to advance the EV charging industry and deliver a seamless charging experience. EVgo is hiring a UI/U Designer to help craft seamless and intuitive user experiences across our digital platforms. In this mid-level role, you will collaborate with both the design team and other departments to shape the next generation of EVgo products. In this role, you'll conduct user research, gather insights from interviews and surveys, and transform them into elegant user flows, journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that enhance EVgo's customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Translate concepts into user flows, wire frames, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences across a wide range of devices and interfaces with a heavy focus on native mobile applications.
- Maintain and further build design team workflows that ensure that all designs delivered are in line with style guides and are of high-quality standards.
- Prior experience in reviewing existing design systems and processes to identify UI issues and develop UI recommendations.
- Build a UI / UX style guide for new products while setting and maintaining UI / UX design standards.
- Able to contribute to and build design systems and components libraries; Adept at maintaining design systems and aligning to Design team goals.
- Able to manage self and others to stay on track with a project; Ensure that the projects are delivered on a timely manner.
- Provides clear feedback to other designers, developing presentations, and other design assets.
- Strong eye for detail and managing design through to developer or product hand off.
- Strong knowledge of the HIG, Material UI, Tailwind and other design frameworks.
- Ability to keep up with the latest design trends.
- Able to quickly identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
- Works within an agile software development environment able to deliver required designs on schedule. Familiar with tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of UI/U design experience; Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing for mobile applications (both Android and iOS mobile applications) and SaaS platforms.
- Expertise in standard UI software such as Figma, Miro, Dovetail and other design tools is a must; Basic HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
- Extensive experience in using UI and UX design best practices to design solutions with an understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
Nice-to-haves
- Designing for HMIs, web applications, and branding is also a plus.
- Experience in a start-up or an agency type environment with the ability to juggle multiple projects at a time.
- Ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet EVgo's needs and vision.
- Familiarity with Analytical tools such as Amplitude to drive data driven designs.
