The UI/UX Software Engineer is responsible for designing engaging user experiences for our medical diagnostic testing device products, focusing on ease of use, utility, and task efficiency. As a UI/UX Software Engineer you will collaborate with product owners, Human Factors Engineers and software teams to translate user needs and business requirements into innovative features and functionalities. This position is part of the Software Engineering department and will be located in Sunnyvale, California. Responsibilities

  • Develop new product concepts, storyboards, interaction designs, and prototypes to articulate solutions.
  • Create detailed process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and other design artifacts to conceptualize sophisticated design strategies.
  • Develop and maintain component-based design systems for scalability and consistency.
  • Ensure UI components and libraries meet standards of reliability, security, and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX teams, and engineering teams to align design with product direction.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Design/UX or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in UI software engineering with 5+ years of recent experience designing interfaces for web, mobile, and living room devices.
  • Experience owning end to end product design for large-scale products.
  • Proficiency in front-end web development technologies including HTML, CSS, CSS preprocessors (Sass, Less), JavaScript, TypeScript, and Material-UI. Expertise in Angular development.
  • Proficiency in prototyping and building front-end features using Google Material Design libraries, Figma, FigJam, Miro, and Adobe Suite.

  • Prior experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices
