About the position

We are seeking a seasoned UI/UX Designer to lead the visual and interaction design of Uniworld’s digital platforms. You will drive the modernization of Uniworld.com during our migration to a Next.js front end and partner with developers and product owners to launch our new online booking engine. Your work will directly influence conversion rates, brand perception, and customer satisfaction across marketing and transactional experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end to end design of web experiences, from discovery and wireframes to high fidelity prototypes and developer ready specs.
  • Partner with engineering to rebuild core web components (buttons, carousels, hero banners, cards, grids) for a modern, accessible, and performant design system.
  • Conduct UX audits, user testing, and competitive analysis to surface insights and inform data driven design decisions that improve engagement and conversions.
  • Lead UI/UX for the new booking engine, crafting intuitive flows for flights, extensions, excursions, and addons that reduce friction and increase booking completion.
  • Design new landing page templates that align with marketing campaigns and personalization goals.
  • Collaborate with brand, content, and marketing teams to maintain visual consistency across all digital touchpoints.
  • Advocate for accessibility, responsive design, and performance best practices.
  • Track design success through metrics such as conversion lift, reduced bounce rate, and task completion time.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in UI/UX or product design with a strong portfolio of responsive web projects.
  • Expertise in Figma (preferred) or comparable design tools and experience managing component libraries or design systems.
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript sufficient to communicate effectively with developers.
  • Demonstrated success designing ecommerce or booking flows that drive measurable uplift.
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React or Next.js.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and usability testing methods.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and cross functional collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with luxury or travel brands.
  • Exposure to Sitecore, WordPress, or similar CMS platforms.
  • Comfort with GA4, A/B testing tools, and conversion optimization techniques.
  • Motion design or animation skills.
  • Spanish language proficiency.

Benefits

  • Salary range: $90,000 – $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage starting day one.
  • 401(k) with company match, generous paid time off and holidays.
  • Travel perks including industry rate cruises after one year of service.
