About the position

The Mitsubishi Electric Trane US Heating & Cooling company designs and manufactures heat pump systems and controls for the North American market. We are looking for a candidate for our CO-OP program to complete 3 alternating semesters of full-time work within our Product Management team.

Responsibilities

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's in Industrial Design programs or other human centered product design programs.
  • A college student with at least 1 year of school completed.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week in our Suwanee, GA office, Monday through Friday.
  • Duties include but not limited to working on design, simulation, and test of the worlds most efficient air handlers' controls products.
  • Organize and update design system components, graphics, user flows, UI prototypes and copy text.
  • Build a knowledge base for internal and external user success.
  • Work directly with internal stakeholders and users to create the future of HVAC controls and apps.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Enjoys a fast-paced environment with different challenges daily.
  • Thrives in a hands-on work environment with basic hand tools and electrical components.
  • Ability and desire to present ideas and make proposals to design and management teams.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong user centric design thinking mindset and experience.
  • Excellent computer skills (i.e. Figma, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Atlassian, hardware, wireless networks).

Nice-to-haves

  • Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design programs.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills. Self-directed regarding project goals.
  • Candidates should have an interest in applying their technical knowledge to business processes.
