About the position
CGI Federal is currently looking for a UX/UI Designer with active Top-Secret clearance to support a large project for a federal government client. The UX/UI Designer plays a crucial role in creating and enhancing the overall human experience when interacting with digital products, systems, or services. As a UI/UX designer, your responsibilities encompass all aspects of digital product development, including design, usability, functionality, and sometimes branding and marketing. This position will be based in Washington, DC or Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for designing, testing, and developing well designed web-based software coding that is testable and efficient by using best software development practices to meet user's needs.
- Recommending software upgrades for current and future systems.
- Translating the User Interface (UI)/User Experience (UX) design wireframes.
- Ensuring software continues to function normally through software maintenance and testing.
- Documenting every aspect of the application, service or environment as a reference for future maintenance and upgrades.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, design, or a related field.
- Active Top-Secret clearance.
- Experience with Atlassian Software products (JIRA, Confluence, Service Desk, etc.).
- Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
- Minimum of 5-8 years' experience.
- Knowledge of responsive design and mobile-first development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
