Who We Are: Located in Plymouth Meeting, PA, Hickory Veterinary and Specialty Hospital is a multi-service animal hospital offering general practice, specialty services, 24/7 emergency care, boarding, grooming, daycare, and rehabilitation. Responsibilities

  • Perform and support inpatient and outpatient care, including triage, diagnostics, treatments, and discharges
  • Assist with emergency cases, anesthesia, and surgical preparation/monitoring
  • Manage labs, bloodwork, radiographs, and medication administration (IV, IM, SQ, oral)
  • Provide clear, compassionate client communication and education
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient logs (SOAPs)
  • Monitor hospitalized patients, collaborate on rounds, and support overnight emergencies (if applicable)
  • Participate in training and mentorship for new team members
  • Support your department’s organization, cleanliness, and inventory
  • Cross-train with different specialties (ER, anesthesia, surgery, internal medicine, and more)

Requirements

  • Experience as a Veterinary Technician (credentialed or non-credentialed)
  • Proficiency in basic technical skills (IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, triage, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities
  • A strong work ethic and a team-first mentality
  • Passion for patient care and client support
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
