About the position

The Breech School of Business Administration at Drury University invites applicants for a full-time Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor of Marketing position beginning August 2025. This position requires teaching marketing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. All Faculty carry a teaching load of seven or eight courses per academic year, depending on faculty's AACSB classification. Candidates who can teach various courses across the business program and are invested in developing dynamic curricula are encouraged to apply. Candidates who have scholarship and teaching interests in some combination of the following areas will receive additional consideration: principles of marketing, consumer behavior, marketing research, marketing strategy, digital marketing, marketing/data analytics and/or professional sales/sales management. The Breech School of Business is AACSB accredited. Our collaborative faculty and staff are dedicated to innovative business education in the context of a vibrant university community. In 2019 Drury University launched a groundbreaking undergraduate curriculum known as Your Drury Fusion, which includes certificate and major programs of study along a dual emphasis on Life and Profession. The Mission of the Breech School: "Developing ethical leaders to thrive in a diverse and dynamic business environment." We take our mission seriously, and the Breech School is pursuing an exciting program of continuous curricular and programmatic improvement. All Breech undergraduate students are required to complete an internship and a study abroad prior to graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrating exemplary teaching in their discipline.
  • Content delivery, student mentoring, and assessment of student learning.
  • Demonstrating awareness of and responding to the diverse needs of all students.
  • Displaying a thorough knowledge of both the curriculum and the subject matter.
  • Facilitating instructional materials and providing guidance and feedback to all students.
  • Addressing plagiarism concerns according to university policy.
  • Collaborating with student-facing institutional personnel to enhance the student experience.
  • Contributing to university-wide and college committees.
  • Collaborating with college or university teams to develop and implement new initiatives.
  • Assisting with program review (gathering data, writing reports, creating action plans for enhancement).
  • Providing support for accreditation and licensure efforts to ensure courses meet career and discipline goals.
  • Engaging in development activities related to the university's primary focus as a teaching institution.
  • Participating in external discipline specific conferences and professional communities.

Requirements

  • MBA or master's degree, in a related field, from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Evidence of education and experience necessary to indicate that they are competent to teach a given course.
  • Commitment to quality teaching and a proven record of teaching excellence.
  • Collaborative skills evidenced by strong working relationships and project skills.
  • Minimum 2 years industry experience in related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Terminal degree, in a related field, from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Record of, or potential for, peer-reviewed publications and faculty qualifications consistent with AACSB Standards.
  • Experience with Canvas LMS.
