About the position

Photon Brothers is a leading provider of solar photovoltaic (PV) solutions committed to reducing our customers' carbon footprint and energy costs. We specialize in designing, installing, and maintaining energy storage and solar PV systems for residential and commercial clients. We are seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a dual-role capacity as a Warehouse Associate & Permit Technician. This hybrid role is essential to our operations team—supporting solar installations through timely material handling and accurate permitting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and inventory incoming solar equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Pull and stage materials for solar installation crews based on project schedules.
  • Coordinate delivery or pickup of equipment with field teams.
  • Track and report damaged or missing inventory.
  • Assist in loading/unloading vehicles using forklifts or pallet jacks as needed.
  • Monitor and reorder low-stock inventory to ensure material availability.
  • Support service and R&R (removal & reinstall) projects by organizing necessary hardware.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications to local AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).
  • Track permit progress and proactively follow up with jurisdictions to ensure timely approvals.
  • Maintain an organized digital and physical filing system of all permits and inspection documents.
  • Communicate with customers, project managers, and utility companies regarding inspection scheduling and requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineers and design teams to ensure permit packages are complete and code-compliant.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of local codes and jurisdiction-specific requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a warehouse, permitting, or administrative support role (solar or construction industry a plus).
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • Strong communication, proactiveness, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to research questions and find answers independently and with urgency.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment safely.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
